Jareth Marlow: Cleveland’s newest upcoming singer, songwriter and musician, with big plans to take over the music scene. The indie singer-songwriter from Broadview Heights went viral on TikTok from a video of himself singing “Ultra Light Beam” by rapper and singer Kanye West. The TikTok received over 3 million views and inspired Marlow to start uploading his musical undertakings on social media more frequently.
Millions of views and a number of viral videos later, Marlow started performing open mics in local venues and showing off his other talents online, such as his guitar and piano skills.
Marlow’s exposure on Tik Tok and performing at local open mics has built Marlow a small Cleveland fan base, but Marlow plans to expand beyond the city.
“I have my hopes set high. Especially in this virtual world, like, you can produce content and get it anywhere.”
Marlow describes his personal music style as a mix of pop, indie and folk. However, Marlow’s favorite music to sing is musical theater and his biggest music inspiration is Jermey Zucker, from Pitch Perfect, who is also very influential in the musical theater scene.
Marlow has had lots of achievements so far in his career, but his most memorable moment so far was having the chance to sing with vocal coach Stevie Mackey and musician Avery Wilson.
“I got to sing with a couple of my singing idols in LA, which is pretty cool. There are two singers, one’s named Stevie Mackey, and he’s a singer and vocal coach and he coaches Jennifer Lopez,” explained Marlow.
Marlow plans to perform at more venues native to Cleveland, such as the Grog Shop, and possibly even Cleveland State!
