Cleveland State set to host The Skin of Our Teeth at Playhouse Square

Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning disaster, “The Skin of Our Teeth”, will be held at the Outcalt Theatre at Playhouse Square from Feb. 23 to March 5.

The Cleveland State University Department of Theatre and Dance students will star in Wilder’s play, which depicts a family that narrowly escapes the end-of-the-world multiple times, from the ice age to a flood and even war.

Toby Vera Bercovici, Assistant Professor of Practice, will direct the play that combines satire, burlesque, farce, and comic strip elements into the play.

“We live in a world increasingly fraught with disasters, both natural and human-made. This play follows the Antrobus family, who, equally beset by disaster, struggle to rebuild their lives time and again,” says Bercovici.

General show times are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM.

March 2 is a signed performance that will be presented with American Sign Language.
