



Cleveland State University is set to host All Rise: A Festival of Film & Law from Oct. 27-29. The festival was created in partnership with the CSU School of Film and Media and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
The festival will focus on the intersection of film and law by presenting a selection of films ranging from narratives to documentaries, along with panel discussions and guest speakers.
“{As} each event serves as a catalyst for compelling conversations around cinema and law,” Cleveland State said in a press release.
The festival will take place at multiple locations, which include the Westfield Studio Theatre of Playhouse Square, the School of Film & Media Arts Screening Room, and the Moot Court Room in the law college. All events and screenings are free and open to the public.
Film screenings include Finding Kendrick Johnson, A Few Good Men, The First Step, The Pez Outlaw, and Dark Waters. For exact dates, times, and locations, please see below. After each screening, a panel discussion will follow.
Keynote Event: The Writer’s Voice: A conversation with Angela Russo-Otstot
The festival will kick off on Oct. 27 with its Keynote Event with Angela Russo-Otstot. Orstot is a producer, actor, and screenwriter that is best known for her work on the films Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Cherry. Orstot was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio.
The event will be led by Bill Garvey, President of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission, who will moderate a conversation about the power of storytelling and the creative process.
