Truth and scandal are alive and well in the White House. By the end of the 2016 election, President Donald Trump claimed victory with electoral votes of 304 points.
Hillary accepted her loss, but maintained faith that change for the good could still occur. Though soon after, many of Trump’s staff have fallen into an endless cycle of suspicion for treason and collaborations with Russian officials. They have been fired or forced to resign from their positions.
Associates and family near Trump have come under scrutiny for their involvement and closed-door meetings with a series of Russian intelligence and representatives. Many have wasted no time post-employment to release confidential information in interviews or write books related to their campaign time with our president.
The prevailing trend is his behavior and lack of decency, and many have stated that Trump’s own children and campaign party struck a deal to manipulate information presented to the U.S. to paint the president in a different light. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as a special counsel to investigate the potential influence of the 2016 election and Trumps’ campaign. Former Trump campaign official Rick Gates plead guilty on Friday, Feb. 23 to two criminal charges in the investigation of the 2016 presidential campaign and many other related activities.
It has also been confirmed that during the election, major social media outlets were hacked by Russian intelligence. Even Google has been compromised.
On Sept. 15, 2017, The Wall Street Journal led a story about how Facebook was able to provide Mueller with detailed records about Russian purchases on its platform.
America has been compromised. The 2016 presidential election was a tsunami of emotions that everyone was unprepared for.
Even with the staggering information against Trump, he denies these allegations. As early as 2013, Trump has been cooperating with Vladimir Putin in hopes of making him his new best friend before them both attending the Miss Universe Pageant as it was hosted in Moscow, Russia.
Time and time again, Trump has gone to Twitter to express his perspective and propagate his values and ideals, but this is seemingly missing the mark from the actual truth saturated with his crude and immature acts. Just as when he claimed on Twitter that this is the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history. He follows this saying that with all of the illegal acts that took place in the Clinton campaign and Obama administration, there was never a special counsel appointed.
It is indeed an embarrassment to have such a man represent the American people and fall so short on our virtues and abilities.
